Health & Safety Training Courses

Practical workplace safety training covering fire safety, manual handling and core health and safety responsibilities.

We provide practical workplace health and safety training for employees, supervisors and organisations across a wide range of sectors.

Choose from our core Fire Safety, Manual Handling and Level 1 Health and Safety qualifications — or tell us about your risks and responsibilities and we’ll help you plan a wider programme.

Course Description

Effective health and safety training helps people understand their responsibilities, recognise hazards and follow the controls and procedures established by their organisation.

Training must relate to the work people actually do. Our trainers use clear explanations, relevant examples and practical activity so learners can connect course content to their workplace.

Depending on the needs of your organisation, we can provide training covering:

  • Adults only
  • Adults, children and infants
  • Workplace and community environments

Courses can be delivered on-site for groups, allowing appropriate examples to be related to your sector, tasks and working environment.

A qualification supports competence but does not replace the employer’s risk assessments, safe systems of work, equipment, supervision or site-specific instruction.

Not sure which course you need? Tell us about your organisation, learners and priority risks and we’ll recommend the most appropriate option.

Choose Your Health & Safety Course

Who should attend?

Our health and safety courses are suitable for employees and organisations including:

  • New starters and apprentices
  • Office and administrative teams
  • Retail and hospitality staff
  • Warehouse and operational employees

  • Employees who handle loads
  • Health and social care organisations

Build a Complete Safety Training Programme

Some organisations need more than one standalone course. We can combine general awareness with risk-specific training and build a phased programme for different employee groups.

Tell us about your sector, sites and priority risks and we can recommend training in areas such as fire, manual handling, COSHH, risk assessment, conflict management and broader workplace safety.

What Topics Can Be Covered?

The exact content depends on the course or programme selected, but training can include:

  • Employer and employee responsibilities
  • Hazards, risks and risk assessment
  • Reporting hazards, defects and near misses
  • Safe systems of work
  • Emergency arrangements
  • Fire prevention and fire response
  • Fire-marshal and warden responsibilities
  • Manual-handling risk factors
  • Avoiding, assessing and reducing handling risk
  • Practical safer-handling principles
  • Slips, trips and falls
  • Work equipment hazards
  • Hazardous substances awareness
  • Workplace welfare and environmental conditions
  • Accident and incident procedures
  • Communication, consultation and supervision
  • Stress and wellbeing at work
  • Creating a positive safety culture

Every course should sit alongside the organisation’s own policies, procedures, risk assessments and role-specific instruction.

Assessment and Certification

Assessment

Assessment depends on the qualification selected and may include trainer observation of practical activities together with the required theory assessment.

Certification

Successful learners receive the relevant nationally recognised, Ofqual-regulated qualification where applicable. The exact title, level and assessment requirements are confirmed before booking.

Which health and safety course does our team need?

Choose Fire Safety for fire awareness or marshal responsibilities, Manual Handling for employees moving loads and Level 1 Health and Safety for a broad workplace foundation.

Tell us about the work people do and we’ll recommend the right course or combination.

Is Fire Marshal training the same as general Fire Safety Awareness?

Not always.

General fire-safety awareness is relevant to employees, while marshals or wardens need additional content relating to their designated responsibilities and workplace arrangements.

Does Manual Handling training cover moving people?

No.

The Principles course focuses on inanimate loads. Moving and assisting people requires different techniques, equipment and a dedicated Safe Moving and Handling course.

Are these regulated qualifications?

Yes, where stated.

Our core Level 1 and Level 2 courses are nationally recognised, Ofqual-regulated RQF qualifications.

Can the training be tailored to our sector?

Yes.

On-site delivery can use examples relevant to your sector while retaining the qualification’s required learning outcomes and assessment.

Can you build a wider health and safety training programme?

Yes.

We can combine awareness and qualification courses into a phased plan for different roles, sites and risk profiles.
