In-House Training

We specialise in on-site/ in-house training. You can book a First Aid course or Health and Safety training at your venue, workplace, school, nursery or community group today.

If you have several employees (or just a group of friends) requiring the same First Aid course or Health and Safety training, you’ll benefit greatly from having your own course delivered just for you and tailor made to your requirements.

The benefits of on-site training

  • Cost effective and saves time: We’ve saved companies thousands, yep – thousands! of pounds by training just a few of their staff instead of sending them to the massive companies for extortionate prices
  • Flexible: We can arrange to deliver training at a time, date(s) and location to suit you and your teams needs. We can even spread the training across a number of weeks
  • Bespoke: We can tailor the training to your needs and your particular work environments which is something you cannot get on a public course
  • Peace of mind: Our courses are accredited by major awarding bodies, regulated by Ofqual, which means you’ll be getting nationally recognised and accredited certificates when students pass their course. These all meet regulatory requirements laid down by the Health & Safety Executive and Ofsted
  • Training you can trust: We’ve been doing this for a long time, our team have trained thousands of people in first aid and health and safety. They’ve all got demonstrable experience and the qualifications to back it up

Training Room Requirements

This is what we need to deliver at your venue. Take a look and and double check, we can always make reasonable adjustments!

All courses

  • A private room which is free from distractions
  • A suitable size TV or blank wall to project onto to deliver any presentations
  • 1 chair per learner with something to lean on for writing and assessments
  • Any furniture must be movable and not impact the training area
  • Toilet and handwashing facilities, adequate ventilation, lighting and temperature suitable for the season
  • Venue layout should comply with the Equality Act 2010
  • Venue and training room should be open to the trainer 30mins before the course start and 30mins after
  • The venue must be a public building or a school. Only under particular circumstances are we able to train at residential addresses
Parking and unloading equipment 🅿️📦

There should be parking available for the Trainer to use for the duration of the course and enough space to safely unload any equipment. If parking is unavailable, a loading bay or other suitable space must be available for the trainer to unload equipment. If you are unable to provide either of these, please let us know.

Depending on course locations, the trainer may arrive via public transport and will not require parking. Unloading space may still be required as we may deliver the course materials the working day before the course and collect the working day after. This will be discussed when booking your course.

Practical Training on a First Aid Course or Manual Handling Courses 🚑 🏋️

A First Aid course has practical elements, such as CPR and recovery position and our Manual Handling Courses require practically moving objects, therefore, they should meet the requirements for ‘All courses’ (above), plus:

  • Enough floor space in the room for learners to complete practical tasks such as the recovery position. We advise that this should be at least the size of a double bed per 2 delegates (or enough room that half of the learners can lay down with their arms and legs spread out not touching any furniture).
  • Carpeted floor or mats available to lay on.
Fire Marshal Courses 🔥🧯

Fire Safety courses should meet the requirements of ‘All courses’ (above), plus:

  • Space outside, which must be on your private premises, at least the size of 2 parking spaces for learners to practice extinguisher use.
  • If no space is available, the course can still run but the Trainer will only be able to demonstrate extinguisher use without discharging them.
Mental Health First Aid Courses 🧠

Mental Health First Aid Courses should meet the requirements of ‘All courses’ (above), plus:

  • Tables and chairs for all learners for group work and assessment.
  • Enough tables and chair space for learners to sit 1.5 metres apart from each other during assessment.

Delegate Requirements

Learners are advised to wear appropriate, comfortable clothing. Practical first aid training includes activities such as laying, kneeling over casualties and acting as the casualty during the course. We do not recommend constricting items as well as skirts and heeled shoes.

Learners should arrive 15 minutes before the course starts and be aware that if they arrive late for a course, or are absent for any session, we reserve the right to refuse to accept them for training as per our own and awarding body protocols.

For the safety of all Learners, we recommend, if a Learner is currently or has recently been pregnant to check with their GP before attending a practical course.

It is the responsibility of the employer to choose a person who can physically fulfil the role they are training for in the workplace. At Frontline Training we care about Learner well-being, please note that it may not be suitable for Learners to attend our practical training courses with any of the following:

  • back, neck, arm, or knee problems
  • rupture or hernia
  • heart disease, high blood pressure, bronchitis, asthma, or chest problems
  • blackouts, seizures, or epilepsy

Please also note that we reserve the right to prevent you from completing your qualification or course if you do attend with any of these problems or if you are pregnant and we feel that you will put yourself or others in danger.

Learners need a basic command of English (defined as Level 2). While we are often able to provide support to people who do not have English as a first language, our ability to do so is limited by the time available and the number of people who require assistance. We may be able to make special arrangements if requested in advance.

Please contact us if you need any guidance on these requirements.
