Paediatric First Aid

The Paediatric First Aid training course provides learners with a comprehensive set of practical skills, knowledge and the confidence needed by those looking after young children and infants. It meets the requirements laid down by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework, Childcare Register and Ofsted.

Course description

Who should attend?

This course is designed for people who work with young children and infants and those that are working towards an early years educator/ practitioner, which includes:

  • People working in nursery settings
  • People working in private nursery schools
  • People working in pre-schools
  • People working in before and after school clubs within the early years age groups
  • Childminders
  • Parents and carers of children at home

Candidates need a basic command of English (defined as Level 2). While we are often able to provide support to people who do not have English as a first language, our ability to do so is limited by the time available and the number of people who require assistance. We may be able to make special arrangements if requested in advance. Please contact us if you need any guidance.

What are the different learning methods for this course?

Face to face learning (Our Fave!)

Learning is entirely classroom based, this course requires 2 days in the classroom. We always recommend this type of training to get as much practical experience as possible

Non-consecutive

Entirely classroom-based, non-consecutive learning involves spreading the 2 days across 2 weeks

Blended Learning – The choice of a busy nursery!

Incredibly beneficial for those working in nursery settings as it’s only 1 day required for classroom learning which gives you the time needed for ‘back-to-school’ prep!

Blended learning is run in 2 parts:

Part 1: Online

You’re in control as this part of the course is self-directed. You should expect that it will take a day (or 6 hours) to complete in total. You can complete the modules at your own pace in your own environment providing you with the flexibility you need. The online training must be fully complete within 6 weeks of your face-to-face training.

Part 2: Face-to-face (at your training venue)

You’ll be in the classroom for 1 day, and on this day you will be in a group with your fellow blended course mates. The day will be led by a specialist trainer.
